Colin Chapman - Founder

Colin's an investor in, a board member of, and the former CEO of Ozone International, a Seattle-area startup that manufactures environmentally-sustainable cleaning and sanitizing systems for the food processing industry.

Prior to joining Ozone International, Colin was with FarmSaver.com, a startup chemical manufacturer that was the first in its industry to bypass resellers and sell directly to farmers via the web. Colin started as the company's IT Director in 2000, responsible for managing the development of the company's public website and web-based order processing, inventory management, and sales forecasting systems. These systems processed and managed over $130MM in sales between 2001 and 2005. Colin was named President of the company in 2005 and oversaw an increase in net revenue from $14MM to $52MM during a two year period.

Prior to FarmSaver.com, Colin was Director of Engineering at Be There Now, an internet startup that converted photographs of real estate into photorealistic 3D virtual tours.

Prior to Be There Now, Colin served in a variety of technical and supervisory positions at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI and at Andersen Consulting in San Francisco, CA.

Colin holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where his thesis work focused on using the genetic algorithm, a non-linear optimization algorithm based on the theory of natural selection, to optimize the topology of mechanical structures. Colin also holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Washington, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
